Re: Program and Plugin Scaling problem
We did not test the plug-in with Surface Book high resolution screen. Please confirm the version of the Adobe Illustrator and the plug-in. Do you have on the screenshot: 1) "Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 Release" and 2) "Missing Fonts Loader plugin for Illustrator CC 2017 Release (x64, Be...

Re: Fonts stop working in user account 2 same pc
If the installed fonts are located within "My Documents" node, that is probably the reason why the fonts are not visible under another user account. If you use two user accounts it is better to put fonts to a folder that is visible under both accounts. For example, C:\MyFonts\... folder sh...

Re: Maintenance getting slower and slower
For the backup zip file which is missing backup.inf file, can you please tell the size of the ZIP file?
(We cannot reproduce the issue. Resulting backup zip file size during tests was about 1.2 GB.)

Re: New search criteria
500 fonts in a group is NOT a limitation, but a recommendation. With more than 500 fonts in a group you will wait for one or more seconds to display fonts of this group. When you click tags (keywords, categories, ratings, caption) in Search in Library view, this is actually a search in a Library usi...

Re: Maintenance getting slower and slower
How the groups are organized? In FontExpert 2016 version 14.0 try to keep no more than 500 fonts within one group.
If you have more than 500, than it will take some visibly time to display the contents of this group.

Re: Restore from Backup
According to screenshot you sent to support, the backup ZIP file created on your computer did not have the "backup.inf" file in the root folder within ZIP. This "backup.inf" file is always added to backup ZIP and it is mandatory. Unfortunately we were not able to reproduce this i...

Re: Can't erase fonts from Library
A font that was once permanantly installed (whether in LIB folder or in any other folder) becomes a shared resource , so the reason why the deletion of file fails is that some process in memory is using this font, even after restart of the computer. There are number of processes that may use fonts, ...

Re: Can't erase fonts from Library
Try to delete the font file from LIB using Windows Explorer before running FontExpert. I will investigate this, it is probably an issue.

Re: Can't erase fonts from Library
Please use command Tools/Show Installed Fonts... and make sure the fonts are not installed (not in the list).
If the fonts are installed, uninstall them. Then restart the computer, and try to delete these font files from LIB folder.

Re: Fonts stop to work (after Windows 10 Creators Update)
The real fix of system software components that are responsible for loading fonts on Windows startup must be created by Microsoft developers. Similar problem was with loading Type 1 fonts in Windows Vista and they have fixed it later.

Re: Fonts stop to work (after Windows 10 Creators Update)
FontsReloader runs for a short time and exits. It does not remain in memory. To estimate the work time, just run it manually once after windows start up. It exits quickly.

Re: Fonts stop to work (after Windows 10 Creators Update)
It seems Microsoft has introduced a serious bug with font handling in their new "update". There are many complaints in Internet describing unexpected issues with fonts. Today the issue we discussing in this topic has occurred on our test computer with Windows 10 + Creators Update: Edition:...

Re: Fonts stop to work (after Windows 10 Creators Update)
If you have Windows 10, delete the Type1Loader registry entry which is installed by FontExpertSetup. Two users has sent a preliminary report that deleting Type1Loader helped to solve the issue discussed in this topic. Type1Loader utility affects only Type 1 fonts, and it is not needed in Windows 10 ...
