Creating Library and Groups ?

Hi... just trying out FontExpert... and I seem to be a bit lost...
I have several thousand fonts from a wide selection of foundries (from large such as Adobe... to independent such as Dalton Maag, etc.). In the past with other font managers, I have created individual "libraries" for each type of foundry... and essentially, they are organized on the hard drive in relevant folders (see attached graphic):

Then, from these "libraries", I create "sets" or "groups" (such as book/report production, magazine design, graphic design, etc.).
I have struggle for a couple of hours with FontExpert, and I cannot see how to accomplish this... all fonts seem to pile into a single "library"... and do I then go individual font by individual font to put them into "groups"? If I create a new empty group, and try to add fonts to this new group, the dialogue box does not allow for adding multiple folders... only individual fonts... this would mean that I would have to individually sort through several thousand directories? Certainly, this is not right...
I've read the extremely sparse FontExpert manuals, and I'm sorry, but I simply do not understand how to create simple libraries and groups. Can someone help? Thanks...
