Selected fonts are deselected by reports

If multiple fonts are selected, the Report Settings and Print Preview dialogs deselect all fonts so nothing is selected. The user then must manually reselect their fonts. Since the Print Preview dialog deselects all fonts when closing, the Print... button in the Print Preview dialog prints a report ...

This deselection issue also causes the following error message when printing from the Print Preview window: "No TrueType, OpenType, or PostScript fonts are selected."

Okay, I've figured out how to fix the printed reports, although it was not intuitive at all in the program nor was it in the documentation help. It turns out that the size selected for viewing fonts in the main window is also used for printing. (Who'd have guessed?) The other issue still persists: R...

Uroboros, how did you turn off the box around the font names? I haven't yet found a way to do this and I too want the box removed.

Font Display Issue

I had suggested this as an improvement to version 8 and it doesn't appear in version 9, so here it is again. People often produce fonts that have only upper-case or only lower-case characters. FontExpert wants to always display font names in proper-case. This causes fonts with no lower-case glyphs t...

Printing Problem

The 3-Column Font Names report used to print the names at 22 pt. It now prints them at 24 pt and I cannot find a way to change it to 22 pt. This makes reports in 2007 different and incompatible with reports from 2006. I don't want to reprint hundreds of pages of reports to fix bad output from 2006 t...

Another 2007 Glitch

In version 8 I could use the mouse wheel to scroll quickly through Font Manager task panes (font lists, font samples, etc). In version 9 the mouse wheel does nothing. I would really like to have this feature re-instated. Admin: Mouse wheel is supported in version 9. Can you please describe in more d...

I normally use Add Fonts with the Link option instead of Add To Group because I've had problems with Add To Group not working correctly. (I can't remember at the moment what those problems were.) Add Fonts brings up a standard Windows File Open dialog from which I select multiple files, but if I sel...

Adding Large Quantities of Fonts

When adding fonts to a group, there seems to be a limit of how many fonts can be added simultaneously. If I select a folder containing 2000 fonts and Select All, the "File name:" field apparently has a maximum number of allowed characters because the value gets truncated (usually within a ...

Issue With Renaming Fonts

The Rename feature seems to be case-insensitive. If a file is named EUROSTILE.TTF for example, and I rename it to Eurostile.ttf FontExpert doesn't rename the font because no characters have changed. The font must be renamed to something different first, then renamed back to the original name with th...

Custom Reports

What to do when none of the pre-configured report formats is the type of report you want printed? It would be nice if a user could select the information to be included in a report and the format of the report. Basically, I wish for a condensed report (3 columns per page) that has the following info...

Duplicate Font Search by Glyph, Rename PS Fonts

Font Expert is by far the BEST font manager that I've found anywhere. I've been using it for a year now, and have had no problems. At this time, there are only two missing features that would improve my workflow: 1. Searching for duplicate fonts. Searching by facename is not accurate. There are ofte...
