Re: Merge font family into one file/menu item

This is possible for Adobe because Myriad Pro and Minion Pro are native Adobe fonts, they KNOW that they can group more than 4 fonts into one logical family, but for the rest of Windows applications this font appears as different families, no more than 4 fonts in one family. If you install two fonts...

Re: Merge font family into one file/menu item

Windows groups fonts by Family name and it allows 4 fonts per family (Regular, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic). So the font designers usually make "Condensed", "Light", etc. a part of family name. For example, "MyFont Condensed" becomes a family name for condensed regular MyFont font. In future versions ...

Re: Sharing font library between pc:s

The recommended way in this version is to create full backup and restore the backup on another computer. Or if the set of fonts is the same on all computers and you only need to synchronize keywords and other tags, you can Export Tags... and Import Tags... on anorher computer. (In version 14 tags ar...

Re: More main Librarys

I think having two or more main libraries is an idea with big disadvantages. Fonts will be distributed among two libraries and 1) you will not be able to find two fonts having the same name of different types if you put them into different libraries (like "My Font 1"/OpenType and "My Font 1"/TrueTyp...

Re: Fonts stop to work

Please send me the problem fonts ( support (at) proximasoftware (dot) com ), I'll try to test them and find out why the preview is empty image. FontExpert uses some defined symbols in a font to generate preview. So if it can not find symbols, the thumbnail appears like a white space. But it seems th...

Re: Corrupted font files

FontExpert ignores corrupted fonts and does not add them to library. It does not provide a list of corrupted fonts during "Add to Library" procedure, but it writes all paths to all corrupted fonts in the log files: C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Proxima Software\FontExpert\14.0\LIB\AddFontsToL...

Re: Correct symbol for TTF and OTF files

Do you mean a thumbnail image generated for font preview in the Main view ? Although OTF and TTF versions of the same font may have similar thumbnail preview image, but you can distinguish font type by icon ("TT" for pure TrueType font, green "O" for OT/TrueType font, red "O" for OpenType/PostScript...

Re: How many installations per license

1) If a user buys a license for personal usage, it is allowed to install FontExpert (and activate with the same license key) on two personal computers simultaneously, for example, on a desktop computer and on a notebook. 2) If a company buys licenses for users working for this company, one license i...

Re: Showing symbols

You can use any Unicode symbols within Face Sample text or Text Sample text. If some font includes mathematical symbols you can: - Select this font - Open Character Map view - Find a cell with the symbol you need - Copy this cell - And paste to text sample For a complex formula you can prepare a tex...

Re: Database Search in FE 2016

You probably use font library structure as a shared folder within your network visible to many users. It is possible workflow, although it has some disatvantages. Users "see" all fonts within font library folder structure. System administrator is usually the person who is responsible for handling th...
