Re: 2018 Installation issues and still hate the library
1. Setup does not automatically move old library to new location. We suggest migration from previous version to new version 15.0 using Backup/Restore feature. In this case you copy LIB folder and other information to backup ZIP file, and then restore it in the new version in new location. If you had...

Re: Feature Request FontExpert
Thank you for suggestions. We will use them for other enhancements. Groups contain font links to real font files in Library. So Groups and Library are used always together. If you add a font to group, it is added to Library. My Collections are the user's folders. Collection could contain a folder wh...

Re: Feature Request FontExpert
We plan to provide more convenient control on search scope in the following release. FontExpert considers folders in My Collections as user's master folders with originsl files. So user is responsible for these folders. Fonts located in collection folders are displayed in the Main view as having add...

Re: Font Locations, Library Node, etc.
I understand. The duplication of search results occurs because FontExpert includes two files to results - the original file located in My Collections and the file in Library/Groups. But you can easily recognise original files located in My Collections by special additional icon with a picture of Use...

Re: Font Locations, Library Node, etc.
1) FontExpert determines folder path within LIB based on font properties (for example, SE subfolder name stands for Serif, then goes the first letter of family name, then family name, then file name). We consider path within LIB as internal implementation of the Library and database. It is easy to d...

Thank you for reporting, this is an issue. Categories in Search view should be sorted, but they are not. We will fix it in the following release.

Migration from old version to new version of FontExpert
We recommend you the following steps for migration from one of previous versions to the latest version of FontExpert: 1. Create full backup in your older version of FontExpert: Choose Tools/Create Backup... menu command. The backup feature creates a backup ZIP file, for example, FontExpertBackup2021...

Re: Missing check marks on fonts view
The checkboxes are displayed depending on the option - Tools, Options, Main view, Show check boxes. I have incorrectly said that this feature was cancelled long time ago. Actually we have removed these check boxes in the new version 15 (which should be officially released soon). If you need to "...

Re: Missing check marks on fonts view
Fonts view the view with Groups and Library nodes, and the Main view is the view with font previews. There were never check marks in the Fonts view, and we have removed check marks in the Main view long time ago. To keep a temporary set of fonts displayed in the Main view we suggest using Add to Wor...

Re: Fonts groups using links
New version 16.0 being in development will include My Collections feature which will allow you to work with your master folders and quickly synchronize them with FontExpert database. We are very interested in you opinion about new version and this feature (after the release).

Re: Batch Renamer
There is no limit and thousand or a few thousands of fonts is normal number for renaming feature. But if renaming is frozen in the middle, it requires special investigation, it is an issue. It is possible that some font is locked by system and it was not possible to rename it, but the feature must f...

Re: Fonts groups using links
I am afraid we do not plan to restore this feature (groups as local folders). In the following version Groups still will be "virtual" folders where fonts are links to corresponding fonts in Library. This approach automatically eliminates duplicates in Library and has another advantages. Fo...

Re: Fonts stop to work (after Windows 10 Creators Update)
We expect that this issue will be fixed with Windows 10 Fall Creative Update promised in October 2017. Microsoft suggests the following fix: Run Regedit utility. 1. In the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ GRE_Initialize 2. Create DWORD (32 bit) ...
