Latest available FontExpert 2020 refuses to start in Windows 10 64 bits

It's all in the subject line. Downloaded and installed the latest 64 bit version. Rebooted. Tried running the app as admin, but FE simply fails to start.
This is the version I downloaded;

Also tried the patched version for Hi-rez monitors:

Neither can be launched.

Please start FontExpert, then find the FontExpert.log file in AppData in Proxima Software/FontExpert/17.0 folder and send it to support@proximasoftware.com.

Unfortunately, there is no log file written, presumably because FontExpert does not start at all.
The installer appears to work, and the Program Files directory contains the installed files and sub directories.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, to no avail. Also tried installing the 32-bit version, same problem.

The path to log file must be the following (depends on user name on computer):
C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Proxima Software\FontExpert\17.0\FontExpert.log.txt

1) Do you have the following folder on computer?
C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Proxima Software\FontExpert\17.0\

2) Do you see the "Digital Signatures" tab file properties of the following file (executable of 64-bit build)?
C:\Program Files\FontExpert\FontExpert.exe
File size: 6687512 bytes

3) Do you have any anti-virus software running, other than Windows Defender included in Windows?

If yes, try to turn it of off or set exception for the FontExpert.exe file in AV software GUI.

4) Please also find the Windows version and build in Windows Settings/System/About and give it here:
For example:
Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 1909
OS Build: 18363.959

No, this path does not exist after a clean install, or after attempting to run FontExpert.exe as admin.

2) Do you see the "Digital Signatures" tab file properties of the following file (executable of 64-bit build)?
C:\Program Files\FontExpert\FontExpert.exe
File size: 6687512 bytes

Yes, I see the tab. My file size is 6456 KB, the signature tab displays:
LLC "Proxima SFT" / sha1 / 24 Feb. 2020

No, only Windows Defender on my machine + "System Center Endpoint Protection, Antivirus Enabled, Company Name Microsoft, Product Version 4.10.209.0"

Thank you for information. We need some time to investigate the issue. We probably need to create a special build which will clarify the reason why the executable is not starting on your comluter. We will contact you by e-mail when we are ready.
